Jessica & Barry - Engagment Session

Friday, April 24th, 2009

Sunday I headed down to Tarrytown to photograph Jessica & Barry’s Engagement Session at the exquisite Castle on the Hudson, AKA The Castle. Jessica & Barry will be getting married at The Castle this July and I can’t wait! I had never been there before and the place is truly gorgeous. Jessica & Barry are super cute together and very playful. They love to be silly and they laugh a lot… my kind of people! ;) When asked what they like to do they told me that they sit on the couch and watch TV (Jeopardy is a favorite!) so we had to get a few with them sitting on a couch too! =)

Gianna - Senior Session

Friday, April 24th, 2009

And on to part three of three of senior sessions with Aurora! Meet Gianna - she’s sweet, down to earth and adorable and she just has the greatest smile! We started out in a field and ended up in an alley and even the middle of the road in downtown New Milford!

Amanda - Senior Session

Friday, April 24th, 2009

Here is part two of three of the Senior Sessions I shot with my friend Aurora in New Milford, CT. Meet Amanda (and her boyfriend Matt too). She’s gorgeous and funny but don’t let that fool you - this girl is SMART! And Amanda can work the camera like nobody’s business! See for yourselves…

Ximena - class of 2010

Friday, April 24th, 2009

Last week my friend and fellow photographer Aurora invited me to photograph a few high school seniors (well, technically Juniors!) with her in New Milford, CT. Aurora and I had never worked together before but we thought it would be fun and a nice trial to see how we work together since she’ll be shooting a wedding with me this summer - we were certainly right - we had a blast and our senior models made it even more awesome!

Meet Ximena. She is not only beautiful but funny, sweet and intelligent… great combo! Ximena was having a rough day but I think we made her feel much better! ; )

And by the way, these tracks were not in use - we would never put our models in danger! The train you can see in the background is parked there and remained there all day.

Next up: Ximena’s friend Amanda! =) Stay tuned!

April happenings…

Tuesday, April 21st, 2009

I don’t know where the time goes but I can tell you that I honestly don’t think that there are enough hours in the day or days in the week! It’s been a whirlwind around here and I’ve been having a lot of fun! The last week or so I feel like I’ve barely even been home! Last week fellow photographer Aurora invited me to photograph 3 high school senior “reps” with her in New Milford, CT (pics to come verrrry soon!), mentored another photographer, then it was off to Middletown, CT for a photographer’s get together with a very well known guest speaker - celebrity wedding photographer Denis Reggie. Over the weekend we had our first ever tag sale, met a ton of our new neighbors and enjoyed the insanely beautiful weather. Sunday morning I received a phone call from my Aunt in FL letting me know that my Dad is in the hospital - he fell and broke his hip! I thought only old people did that? Kidding, kidding… I know that’s not true at all - especially since my step sister broke hers at 18 years old in Marine Boot Camp! He had surgery yesterday and has been in the ICU so I’ve been a bit stressed out. I am very close with my Dad and hate being so far away even when everything is great. Anyway, he’s still in the ICU but he’s doing well. Sunday afternoon was Jessica & Barry’s engagement session at The Castle - those photos will be coming soon as well! =)

Today was a very exciting day in the Thomes household - Jaedyn lost yet ANOTHER tooth and we adopted a puppy! Well, not officially adopted quite yet, we’re doing a trial run to make sure he’s good with Jaedyn and our 2 cats, but so far so good! Though, he does think that cats are for chasing and playing with - my cats don’t appreciate that - but he’s not viscious toward them at all which is good. He’s 7 months old and a very happy and well mannered pup. Of course, the poor little guy was really freaked out tonight - new people, new place AND a thunderstorm! He’s calm now - he’s sleeping on the floor in our bedroom in his dog bed. Anyway, this is super exciting for our household because out of the three of us, I’m the only one who has ever had a dog before! I grew up with dogs - I always had at least one - from birth through my late teens - but Sean and Jaedyn have never had dogs! They are both naturals though and we all love this little guy already - and he has definitely taken a liking to us as well - especially Sean! We’re 99% sure that we’ll be officially adopting him - I’m so excited! =) Here’s our happy pup as we were walking him out of the humane society (point and shoot camera alert - please excuse!) ; )

Stay tuned… lots of photos to be posted as soon as I can catch my breath! =)

The Knot Best of Weddings 2008/2009!

Friday, April 10th, 2009

It is such an honor being voted “The Knot Best of Weddings 2008/2009″ by my brides! Thank you so much to those that voted and had such wonderful things to say! For those that don’t know, it’s a huge magazine with all of the wedding vendors nationwide that were voted “Best of Weddings” by their couples - it’s a fantastic resource for finding the best wedding vendors! Congratulations to all of those who were also voted “Best”! I grabbed my copy at my local Barnes & Noble - don’t forget to grab your copy of this comprehensive list of the best wedding vendors as voted by real brides! Now they just need a vote on “Best Wedding Clients” because I know mine would make that list! ; )
