Welcome Nolan!

Wednesday, February 18th, 2009

I’m an Auntie! My sister-in-law Melissa and brother-in-law Dan welcomed their first child this morning - a boy - Nolan. Jaedyn and I went to visit them in the hospital for a bit today and I just had to share a few pics of the newest edition to the family!

CONGRATULATIONS MELISSA & DAN!!!

We love you, Nolan!

Love,

Uncle Sean, Auntie Aut and cousin Jaedyn

Also, congratulations to my clients Melissa & Danny B. who welcomed their second child yesterday! Ironic, isn’t it?!

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Saturday, February 14th, 2009

I hope everyone (hitched, taken or single!) had a wonderful Valentine’s day! We don’t really celebrate V-day but I have to admit, I’m a sucker for seeing couples gush over each other and Valentine’s Day seems to have that effect! It was also a lot of fun attending my daughter’s kindergarten class Valentine’s Day party yesterday… though the sugar high afterward was not so fun!

TGIF - even if it is the 13th!

Friday, February 13th, 2009

Ever have one of those weeks? I have been running, running, running all week and I think I lost my head somewhere along the way! Last Sunday I was woken up by my 5 year old saying “Mommy, the police are here”… let me just tell you that you know it’s going to be a bad day at that point. It was no big deal and actually kind of funny, but it certainly set the tone for the rest of my week! Sunday afternoon our kitchen (in our BRAND NEW house) flooded, buckled our beautiful hardwood floors and ran down through the walls into the laundry room. Thank God I was home because the amount of water that filled my kitchen, dining room and hallway in a minute or less is scary! Then my computer pretty much died. I have tried to recuscitate it but it’s no use. About the only thing I can do on it is (sort of) get online. It won’t really let me do anything else and I despise working on the laptop. I got a new one today, though it’s still in the box. I had to (yes, HAD TO) get a new desk, had to paint my office… these things are still in progress. Trying to relocate my business from CT to NY has been interesting to say the least. I feel like all I’m doing is jumping through hoops while doing a balancing act. And the sales tax? WOAH. Talk about confusing. My head is spinning from all of the different tax rates and I don’t know which way is up! Now my daughter is on a major sugar high from her class Valentine’s Day party and I think my head may just explode. *sigh* It’s just been one of those weeks and I am so exhausted! I hope that my sister-in-law doesn’t have her baby tonight because I still have so much to do and I need some sleep but I wouldn’t be able to resist driving to CT for that!

Hope everyone had a great weekend and Happy Valentine’s Day! =)

Christine & Brad - Hitched in Newport, RI!

Monday, February 9th, 2009

Tara and I made the long trek to Newport, RI the last weekend in January for Christine and Brad’s fabulous, fun and frigid wedding! Christine looked absolutely radiant and I’ve never seen her so happy! Brad was dashing in his tux but the best accessory for each of them was their smiles! The two of them were grinning ear to ear all day! After a beautiful ceremony at Kay Chapel we headed back to Viking Hotel for the cocktail hour, photos and reception. The reception was so much fun thanks to the wonderful ETA band (based out of Westport, CT) who kept the party going strong until the very last song. They were AMAZING and I would very strongly recommend them to anyone looking for a band! Here are some of my favorites from the day:

Check out the slideshow below!

Thanks again Christine & Brad! I hope you are having a great honeymoon in Aruba! And as always, a huge thanks to Tara!!

Bride’s Choice Award!

Wednesday, February 4th, 2009

WeddingWire, the nation’s leading wedding technology company, just announced that Autumn Photography has won the 2009 Bride’s Choice Awards™!

“We are excited to launch this annual award program to honor high-performing vendors based solely on the experiences of our WeddingWire community,” according to Timothy Chi, WeddingWire’s Chief Executive Officer. “This year’s recipients have set the bar high, exhibiting excellent service and expertise in the wedding industry.”

From the e-mail I received:

“Congratulations! You have been chosen to receive a 2009 Bride’s Choice Award! This award recognizes vendors from the WeddingWire Network who demonstrate excellent quality of service, responsiveness, professionalism, value of cost and flexibility.

Unlike other awards in which winners are selected by the company, the Bride’s Choice Awards are determined exclusively by recent newlyweds through surveys and reviews. That means your past clients have spoken on your behalf and chosen you for this honor!”

I would like to thank my past clients for speaking on my behalf and helping me win the 2009 Bride’s Choice Award! You’re awesome!

Melissa’s maternity

Tuesday, February 3rd, 2009

My sister-in-law Melissa is pregnant with her first child and due in less than 2 weeks! I am so excited and I cannot wait to find out whether I have a niece or a nephew! Anyway, she and my mother-in-law came over for a bit last weekend and I did a pseudo-maternity session for her… as in, it was a maternity session but it was just her, in my house (still full of boxes) for about a half an hour and not the usual circumstances for a session! She’s just so frickin’ cute though… she’s ALL belly and she’s really petite - it just cracks me up because she really does look like she’s going to fall over at any minute! I cannot wait to meet my niece or nephew and to see my sister in law and brother in law as parents! Congrats again you two… love you both!

Dad’s visit

Tuesday, February 3rd, 2009

My Dad was here visiting for a couple of weeks and helping us get settled in to our new house so of course I had to get some photos of my Daddy! I’ve had this picture in my head that I wanted to take of my Dad for decades and just wasn’t quite sure how to accomplish the look that I had in my head until recently. Thanks to Zack Arias and his One Light Workshop, and to Mark Gardner who was sort of volunteered to be the test subject, I learned how to do it! Of course, once I had my Dad in front of the camera and was given some limitations it turned out slightly different but I actually think I might like this better! First, a couple of other fun shots:
