A new year…
Wednesday, December 27th, 2006Wow, what a year this has been! I have been so blessed to have had so many clients whom I have made such a connection with… and to have so many clients period! I never expected for my business to grow so much in the last year, but it has and I just want to thank you all for your continued support. While I truly enjoyed meeting and photographing each and every one of my couples and families this year, I am scaling back a little bit for 2007. I realized this fall that I had taken on more than I could handle by myself and still have time to be a mother and wife and that is #1 on my list. So what does that mean? I am going to concentrate on more effective time management this coming year and that means taking less photo sessions so that I can devote more time to my wedding clients and my family… oh yeah, and myself! If I don’t take care of myself I’m no good to anyone else! This also means that like most businesses, there will be a price increase for the new year so that I can better afford all the nifty software, gear and gadgets, hire more help and my new print lab and website that will be unveiled soon. The focus is quality and that is most important to me.
I have to give a shout out to my wonderful second shooters - Lauren, Tina and Heather. You all did an awesome job and I am so proud of you! Special thanks to Lauren for helping me get through the rough patches and helping me behind the scenes!
I mentioned that I will be unveiling a new website soon… I am working hard to get all of my December clients taken care of so that I can get this baby up and running! It’s a work in progress and taking me longer than I expected, but I am so excited and I hope you will all love it as much as I do! I think it’s going to be worth the wait! The new site will be at a new web address and that means that my e-mail will be changing as well. I will be sure to post an update as soon as it’s ready to go live!
On a more personal note, I will be taking quite a bit of time off in January. My Grandmother is turning 80 January 8th and she lives in Michigan, so I will be celebrating with my family as well as visiting one of my closest friends! Most of my family in Michigan has never met my daughter Jaedyn who is now 3 1/2, so this will be an extra special visit. Also, my close friend Ginger has never met Jaedyn and I have not met her 4 1/2 year old son Parker! It’s so strange that we are so close but have not met eachother’s children, I know! We haven’t seen eachother since she was in my wedding - we keep trying to make plans to visit eachother and it never works out. I am so excited to see her! My husband just met Parker for the first time a couple of weeks ago when he was there on business… I’m jealous that he got to meet him before me! I will be returning from Michigan just a few days before my birthday and then it’s off to Vermont where I will try snowboarding for the first time and my daughter will try skiing for the first time! I was born and raised in Florida and didn’t even see snow until I was almost 20 years old, so this is a big thing for me. I have never done any snowsports, in fact in the last 2 years I made my first snow angel and had my first snowball fight! I’m a little scared, but mostly excited! My sister in law teaches snow stars at Okemo, so she’s going to give Jaedyn some skiing lessons and is hooking me up with a discount on my lessons. I can’t wait!
I mentioned clients whom I’ve made an awesome connection with -
Special thanks to Kristen & John, Vanessa & Rob, Vanessa & Matt, Holly & Aaron, Kelly & Marc and Caroline M. - you all have made me love my job even more and I am so thankful to know each one of you! It’s such a blessing to go to work and not only love what you’re doing, but truly feel like your clients are old friends of yours. Thank you for being so awesome and letting me get to know y’all!
Good things for 2007 - Happy New Year!
